From the South: Take Hwy 51/39 North to 29 East
Exit on 171, Bus 51/Grand Avenue
Continue on E Grand Avenue 
Right on Jelinek Ave before the McDonalds at the Burger King 
Past the Junior High and Football Stadium on Jelinek, to the Simon Field
Enter the High School Parking lot on Alderson St. 

Summer 2026 Road Construction

From the Village of Weston: 

Jelinek Avenue / Alderson Street Intersection – Traffic Update

Beginning June 8th (Monday), the Jelinek Avenue and Alderson Street intersection will be closed until the end of August to complete construction of utility improvements and to convert the intersection into a roundabout in anticipation of the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The Contractor will also be performing some sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs south and east of the intersection as part of the project.

The few residents that live in close proximity to the intersection will have access during the project including emergency personnel. We ask that everyone else please do your best to stay out of the work zone and park on nearby adjacent streets if you need to visit someone located within the limits of the construction project. If traveling in the neighborhood, please plan to use one of our other local streets to travel around the construction to arrive at your destination. Depending on your destination, the Village will have a signed detour route as shown in the provided exhibit.

It is recommended that residents plan accordingly and utilize other public streets to travel to their destinations to reduce the impact to the neighborhood in and around the intersection. Please be advised that during the entire project, Kennedy Park, Weston Aquatic Center, Mount Olive Lutheran Church, DC Everest Senior High School, and Greenheck Turner Community Center will remain accessible but you may need to take a route that is different from your normal route.
