REC Sports


Recreation sports are an important program offered by the Greenheck Turner Community Center.  We have grown our programs over the past century with the support of volunteer coaches, committed parents and energetic youth. Please reference our Friend Request & Team Formation Policy if you wish to make a friend request this season.  All requests must be mutual.

Online registration is required through Team Sideline, our registration software. Please visit the following link to register: https://teamsideline.com/sites/greenheckturner/home. Those that already have a Team Sideline username & password, you may sign in and register using those credentials.  If you are new to Team Sideline, please create an account for yourself, add any children, then complete the registration.  Please contact our office at 715-359-6563 if you have questions about our registration system.

The Wisconsin 4v4 Indoor Soccer Championships are on December 7-8th, 2024!  All games will be played at the new Greenheck Turner Community Center, Wisconsin's premier indoor facility.  Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of (3) 25-minute games and all games will be played in a 6 hour time block.

When: December 7-8th, 2024
Where: Greenheck Turner Community Center
Who: Boys and girls divisions - U8-U18, Adult Women, Adult Open, Adult Open Over 30
           -U8-U14 will play Saturday, December 7th
           -U15-Adult will play Sunday, December 8th
Roster Size: 5 to 8 players per team
Fee: Early registration of $150 per team if registered by 10/15/24
        Regular registration of $175 per team if registered between 10/16/24 - 11/22/24
        Late registration of $200 per team on or after 11/23/24

*Limited space is available in each division so register early to ensure your spot and take advantage of the early bird price!

Tyke Time on the Turf 
Thursdays in October
TIME: 9:00-10:00 AM
Roll, bounce, jump and giggle your way around the turf during our Thursday Tyke Time. Each week your tot will find different and fun ways to express themselves through play. Socks are required. Great for 18 months to 4 years. Registration highly encouraged.

Speed & Performance Camps (Fall-Winter)

Three continuous 6-week sessions for boys and girls 4K-8th grade. Lead by a dedicated team of experts on staff with years of service, training, and expertise behind their sport.  These experts will be dedicating their time to youth in the area with various camps, clinics, and program opportunities.  This program will offer a wide range of movement patterns that will include flexibility, mobility, power, strength, and speed.

Future Lacrosse Heros (Winter) 

Introductory skills/drills along with weekly small sided lacrosse 4v4 games.  No prior experience is required. 
With limited equipment needed, and sticks provided, why not give it a try?

Dates: January 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 20 & February 4, 6, 11, 13 (Tuesdays/Thursdays)

Men's Pick Up Soccer on the turf (Winter) 

Our Men’s pick-up soccer program is a fun way to enjoy the game of soccer, meet new people, and stay active while playing in games in a recreation setting. Participants will play in soccer games on any size field of there choosing. We have 5v5, 7v7, and 11v11 size fields. Pinnies will be provided, and you must wear shin guards and sign the waiver when you arrive. There are no refs so you will call your own fouls. This rec pick-up soccer, no scores will be kept. Keep is fun and respectful!

Jump Academy (Winter) 
Attention Track and Field Athletes!!

Are you looking to improve in Long Jump, Triple Jump or Pole Vault?  Do you want to be an elite jumper in the region or state? Work with experienced area high school track coaches to enhance your performance and skills in the jumping events. Athletes will receive exclusive training in new techniques, detailed drills and jumping mechanics in the new Greenheck Turner Community Center. This program will be 1 hour long, every Monday for 8 weeks.  Please view the sessions below.  Sign up fast, sessions are limited to 12, to ensure every athlete receives a full training. 

Program Formats:

  • Long/Triple Jump: Runaway approach, Takeoff at Board, Phases of Triple Jump, Mid Air, Landing
  • Pole Vault: Runaway, Dryland Skills, Plant, Vault/Turn, Bungee Bar.  Opportunity to get multiple vaults in prior to the season

Sessions: Participants can sign up for either Pole Vaulting or Long/Triple Jump, depending on what they would like to work on.    Athletes that would like to participate in both, will have that opportunity. Please just sign up for one

Girls Basketball Skills & Drills (Winter) Skills practice is necessary for all players, regardless of age and ability. This program will be run as a clinic/camp with coaches providing instruction on the fundamentals of the game. We'll work on ball handling, passing, shooting, layups, teamwork as well as the rules of the game. We'll also introduce game play in the older levels. Instruction will be led by the D.C. Everest high school coaching staff and players.

Youth Kickball (Winter) Come play a family-oriented game of kickball in the new Greenheck Turner Community Center Turf. Participants will be divided into teams and will meet every Tuesday night for a game. The exact schedule will depend on registration numbers, but we are planning on games starting at 6 PM. This is a recreational program; no score will be kept. Program communications will be sent via Team Sideline email. Please reference our Friend Request & Team Formation Policy if you wish to make a friend request this season. All requests must be mutual.

Coaching: We are in need of parent volunteer coaches, our kick ball program is fun for both kids and adults! Please consider becoming involved by volunteering to be a coach or assistant coach. Walk Wisconsin (Winter) Interested in getting out of the cold, getting some physical fitness and possibly meeting new people? Walk Wisconsin is the opportunity for you! This program is designed to teach you a little bit more about some of the beautiful trails around Wisconsin, while also getting you physically active with low impact exercise.

Each week will send out information on a specific trail in Wisconsin. We will have a specific amount of laps to complete that coincide with the length of that specific trail. This would be a great opportunity to get out and complete a challenge with other interested individuals during the colder months.

Walk-a-Marathon (Winter) 

You have 10 weeks to complete 26. 2 miles on the Greenheck Turner Community Center's new walking track. Registered participants laps will be tracked during the duration of the program.  You will receive a medal upon completion.  Benefits of walking include improvements to your cardiovascular health, bone strength and mental health.

SNAG Golf - (Starting New At Golf) (Winter) 

Open to Boys & Girls in 3rd - 5th Grade
We are excited to offer a SNAG golf classes this winter! SNAG stands for “Starting New At Golf” and is a fun game that is easy to learn and can be played virtually anywhere. SNAG contains all the elements of golf but in a modified form. Falling somewhere between mini-golf and regulation golf, SNAG allows for full shots, pitching, chipping and putting. It is a proven learning & training tool for entry-level golfers and those just looking to have fun!

Classes will be taught by PGA Professional Buck Welsh. SNAG has its own unique set of equipment, suitable for indoor play, and all equipment is provided as part of the lessons. SNAG clubs and balls are much easier for kids to use, making the class enjoyable for everyone. To learn more about SNAG golf, visit the product website at www.snaggolf.com.

Indoor Youth Soccer - on the turf- (Winter) All Participants will be divided into teams. Each team will beet for 1 hour each Sunday. Included in that hour will be 15-20 minutes of practice with their coach followed up by a game with another team for the remainder of the hour.

Our Soccer program is fun for both kids and adults! Parents- your help is greatly appreciated and essential to the success of the program. Please consider becoming involved by volunteering to coach or assistant coach. No soccer experience is necessary.

Coaches meeting tentatively planned for Thursday, Feb 5th, 2025. Details will be shared prior to the meeting.

Girls Volleyball (Spring)

Instruction will be provided by the D.C Everest coaching staff and players. The clinic is open to 3-6th Grade girls of any ability who wish to learn more about this exciting sport. Instruction will include basic skills, strategy and team play. Skills that will be taught include serving, passing, setting, blocking and defensive strategies. Participants will also be able to develop their skills in fun game-like situations.

Boys Basketball Skills & Drills (Fall)

Age 4 - 2nd Grade Boys Basketball Skills & Drills - Fall 2024

Format: Our boys basketball skills & drills program is a wonderful way to introduce your son to the sport of basketball.  The Skills & Drills program is for boys Age 4 - 2nd grade in Fall 2024 (not current grade). We will meet each Saturday morning with the DC Everest high School Boys Basketball Coaches and Players leading the fun! 

Registration deadline is Friday September 6th and any registration taken after the deadline will receive a $10 late fee.

Run & Play Cross Country Event- Saturday, September 28, 2024 Come Run & Play with the DCE Cross Country team for some great Fun & Fitness!  The run starts at noon with fun games to follow. This one day event is open to all skill levels. 

Who: Boys & Girls in grades K - 5th

  • Kindergarten - 1st Grade will run 400M
  • 2-3rd Grade will run 800M
  • 4-5th Grade will run 1 Mile 

Location: Greenheck Turner Community Center Practice Fields, located behind the tennis courts & building. 
Date: Saturday, September 28th
Time: 12pm - 2pm 
Cost: $10 per participant (CLOSED)

Flag Football (Fall)

Flag football is offered for boys and girls in grades 3-6th grade.  Teams are divided by grade and learn the fundamentals and rules related to football. When registering, please consider volunteering to coach your child's team. The DCE Varsity football team players help referee games and have been very helpful on Saturday mornings teaching kids as the games are played. 

REGISTRATION: Fee $40 CLOSED
Registration begins in late summer and is closed at this time. Late registrations may be accepted, depending on availability.
WHEN: Games will take place on Saturday mornings with weekday evening practices. Exact times will be released in summer of 2024 for the fall.

Girls Recreation Basketball League (Fall) We are excited to offer a Recreation basketball league for girls attending 3-6th grade. When registering, please consider volunteering to help coach or help as an assistant coach for your daughter’s team.  Your help is important to the success of the program!  Volunteer coaches are needed for all teams.

REGISTRATION: Fee $40 CLOSED
WHEN: Saturdays, September & October with weekday evening practices.
Exact schedule will be determined based on the number of participants.

Fall Outdoor Soccer (Fall) Fall soccer is open to boys & girls age 4 - 5th grade. Participants will be divided into teams and will meet for one hour each Sunday for skills practice followed by a soccer game. No soccer experience is necessary. All participants are required to wear shin guards.  

REGISTRATION: $40 CLOSED 
WHEN: Fall of 2024 will be released in the summer of 2024. The exact schedule will depend on registration numbers.  Noon - 5:00 pm in one hour time slots.

Log Rolling (Fall) 

Join the Wisconsin River Rollers to learn how to log roll. Log rolling has been around for over 150 years. It started with historic river drives of logs down area rivers. Lumberjacks would ride the logs down the river to the sawmills.  You will learn the skills needed to log roll, getting in some physical activity and have some fun in the pool! Must be able to swim a full length of the pool unassisted. 

No prior experience necessary.

 Summer Soccer (Summer)

Summer soccer is the largest youth recreation program we offer.  Registration is closed and we have almost 900 kids registered.  

Participants will be organized onto teams and games will be scheduled on weekday evenings. Age 4, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade levels will have practice time & a game built in to their 1-hour time slot. 2nd Grade and older will play their game for the entire hour. Practices for these levels will be scheduled at the coach’s discretion and could be held prior to a game or on a separate day/time than the scheduled game.

REGISTRATION: Fee $54.00 CLOSED 

WHEN: July 15 - August 15 (weekday evenings) with an optional Jamboree August 17-18.

Adult Intro to Pickleball (Spring) This introductory program requires to experience. 
When: Monday, April 8, 2024 Class is currently full.

Class is limited to the first 16 adults to register.  Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 3rd or until we reach capacity.

Adult Pickleball Ladder League (Spring) 

Participants will play two sets of 3 games each night (6 total games). Scores after the first set of 3 games will determine movement either up or down the ladder. Then we will play 3 more games and the scores from those games will establish new ladder positions for play the following week. All games are played as doubles, but your scores will count individually for the ladder. Participants will play with a different partner each game.

Youth Speed Camp (June) 

Second session of camp begins this June. Participants in the Youth Speed Camp will learn skills and techniques that will improve their running form and speed. Taught by experienced coaching staff with more than 50 years of combined experience.  This speed camp will be divided into two sessions, based on grade.

Camp goals are:

1. Increase your speed, agility and quickness.
2. Improve flexibility and range of motion.
3. Increase power and explosiveness.
4. Learn skills and drills you can use on your own to continue improving your speed and quickness.
5. Have fun!

Girls Running Camp (Summer) The DCE Rising Stars Girl's Running Camp is designed to increase confidence and empower young girls to build connections through running and movement patterns, endurance, strength & mobility activities, and health knowledge & skills.  Campers will participate in age & ability appropriate running activities & games, as well as interactive lessons valuing relationships and teamwork.  This program will be guided by current coaches and high school competitive runners. Join us for fitness, fun & friendship! We will be serving snacks during this program and participants will be going off site during their runs, accompanied by the coaches. 

When: June 24-27th

At times throughout the year we have also offered introductory classes and leagues in Pickleball and Lacrosse. 
As the new facility opens there may be other opportunities for whiffle ball, dodge ball, kick ball, 
indoor football, and a variety of camps and clinics.
