Coaching Experts

D.C. Everest has dedicated experts on staff with years of service, training, and expertise behind their sport.  These experts will be dedicating their time to youth in the area with various camps, clinics, and program opportunities.  

Tim Strehlow 

Has served the D.C. Everest District for twenty four years, and a proud graduate of DCE.  During those years he has started the strength & conditioning program in the physical education curriculum.  He has a Certification Applied Function Science (CAFS) through the Gray Institute and currently serves over 200 high school student/athletes during the school day. 

Previously he was the Head Football Coach and currently the Varsity Track & Field Coach.  Before working at DCE, he was a college athlete at North Dakota State University and a two time All-American in football. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for North Dakota State University in 2024.

“I am excited to extend my knowledge of speed and performance to all age levels. I will help with the development of kids in all sports. My goal is to help kids become better movers and more efficient athletes.” Tim Strehlow.

Lucas Kollross 

Lucas has been in the D.C. Everest School District as an Elementary Physical Education teacher for 22 years at Riverside Elementary. He has also served as the Head Girls Soccer coach at Everest for 25 years. He has a Certification in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) from the Gray Institute and has been a presenter on functional movement at the Wisconsin Health and Physical Education Conference. Lucas was named the Division 1 State Coach of the Year in both 2014 and 2015. He was also named the NFHS National Girls Soccer Coach of the Year in 2015. 

“My passion is to help kids become better movers and feel great about what their body can do for them. I strongly feel exercise is the most important factor in preserving the minds of our young children. I want to help get kids excited about moving and can’t wait to work with your child.”

Dave Wanta 

Has taught Physical and Health Education in the D.C. Everest School District for 27 years.  He has also coached Varsity Football at DCE for 34 years, Boys Varsity Track and Field for 1 year, and 31 years with the Varsity Girls Track and Field program, where he serves as the sprint and horizontal jumps coach.  He has been very fortunate to be part of 3 State Championship Football Teams and 2 with the Girls Track and Field Program. 

Dave has also been very active with the Strength and Conditioning and speed program at DCE.

Bill Franklin 

Bill started at D.C. Everest in 2017 and has been a Physical Education and Health teacher since 2010.  Currently, Bill serves as a Physical Education teacher at D.C. Everest Senior High, and has previously worked with students Kindergarten -9th grade.  In addition to teaching, Bill has been a varsity level football and track and field coach since 2004, highlighted by serving as a Head Varsity Track and Field coach at D.C. Everest for 6 years and Mosinee High School for 4 years.  With an emphasis on speed development, Bill also has been certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS through the NSCA), Certification Applied Function Science (CAFS), and 3DMaps Functional Assessment Certification.
